That’s Not a Knot is the story of a boy who has permission to row his skiff anywhere in the Bay of Saint Louis on the Mississippi Gulf Coast after he passes his dad's safety tests. After passing them he rows out to his favorite buoy and ties his skiff to its ladder. Suddenly a squall hits and his skiff breaks loose, leaving him atop the buoy with no way to get home. A neighbor finds the skiff and tows it to shore, picks up the boy’s dad and brother and they set out to find him. After they rescue him his patient dad once again shows him how to tie a bowline knot.
